About bwood.at

In 2011 my wife Barbara and me bought a piece of land to build our house.

This place is in Haidershofen in the near of the city Steyr in Austria.

The following 2 years we designed the house of our dreams. In March 2013 we were ready to start with the digging of the cellar. In the morning when the digger arrived we were really nervous…

This was the start of our biggest adventure and the beginning of bwood.at.

Why bwood.at?

We decided to bwood due to two facts. The first is, "b" stands for our familyname Bachner and the second is, "b" for "be wood". We liked this word game and so we chose this.

Michael, Barbara, Sebastian and Hannah

Michael

During the building of our house (started in 2013) I have discovered the love for woodworking. In the last five years I designed and produced smaller and bigger projects. I prefer modelling of furniture. Next to wood I like to work in our garden and produce therefor some constructions. 

In our cellar we have a workshop where we do the most work. While I have made the different projects, my workshop expand and I bought a lot of tooling. But a man cannot have enough tools ;-)

I do this only as a hobby and not as a professional carpenter... at the moment ;-)

Barbara

Barbara is the creative "ghost" in our house. Mostly she is designing the different projects before I start to work. In the most situations she needs only a pencil and a scissors to start. 

This creativity is also visible when she bakes one of her tasting fancy cake in the kitchen.

Sebastian

Our son loves playing or watching soccer. He is a big fan of Ronaldo and likes playing football with his friends all day long.

He plays at the club ASV Behamberg/ Haidershofen in our hometown. 

Next to soccer he is very interested in experimenting and helping dad in the workshop...more less… 

Hannah

Hannah, our daughter, is "Sporty Spice". Since she is three years old she is doing gym and likes it very much. During the week she trains twice and once a month she does ballett additionally.   

Her club is Allgemeiner Turnverein St. Valentin.

Next to gym she is a "princess" and likes all kinds of beauty.
